Pont de Grésin

I still can't for the life of me explain why this edifice was built in the middle of nowhere and why it's kept in such impeccable state. But I'm grateful.

Maybe that's it: it makes enough people grateful to justify its existence. This, and probably the fact that it leads to a gorge that spent the last few centuries relentlessly sculpting rock formations which would make les Pertes de la Valserine blush.
