CERN Dancing Club Posters

Colourful and artistic dance-related posters for parties, workshops and other events at the CERN Dancing Club, with a gradually changing style of the years.

I draw posters for the CERN Dancing Club events – 122 so far. Posters have had different styles over time, depending on the designers and their moods. I make those posters with Inkscape, which I also like using for outlining photos.

These first 4 ones caused to soak the paper, unsurprisingly. And there hadn't even been the Halloween one yet, which would have had an homogeneously pitch-black background and probably would have made the printer take a swim. I had to go easier on the ink, clearly:

I took the opportunity to avoid having hard-cut backgrounds touching the page borders at all, which is desirable when working with printers which can't reach them and leave unsightly white margins. This required me to find new ways to emphasise the dance style colour codes used by the Dancing Club, though: the title, main characters, halos and sticky prints aim at highlighting them.
